Little Learning Books

The boys and I were strolling around town yesterday enjoying the warm weather.  It was nice to finally get out from under the rain clouds that have been hanging around.  We hit a few of our favorite stores, browsing for nothing in particular but checking out everything while we explored.

Claire has been into reading books lately.  So much so that I have been on the hunt for a few to add to her collection.  I came across these Little Learning Books and I thought they would be the perfect size for her tiny hands to hold.  She enjoys turning the pages back and forth while she babbles to herself and anyone listening.  These books aren’t too big for her to handle or too small to flip through.  You know how some of those teeny tiny books are real hard to manipulate?   Not these.

I have to admit, the package design is what caught my attention at first.  It usually is with me.  But once I picked them up to take a closer look, it was the feel and the contents that won me over.  They are made from recycled papers which is always a plus, and gives them a slight texture that I thought Claire would enjoy.  Along with the standard colors and shapes themes are a few I haven’t come across.  Our Family, Around Town, and Busy Day are a little different and I thought sweet for a baby to relate to in her world.

After getting home I looked into the company further.  Something I just can’t help but do with most everything I buy.  Especially when it comes to the kids.  Anyway, they are made by Innovative Kids, a brand I wasn’t familiar with.  At least I thought I wasn’t.  It turns out they are the makers of a set of learn to read books that Cole was given by my sister.  Apparently they have an entire reading program available.

Searching further on their site, I found they are super big on safety testing and all things that make learning fun.  I am liking this company more and more.

They have all sorts of puzzles, games and toys.  The book and game sets, like the Numbers in Nature above, are a great way to introduce little ones to the world of counting through reading and play.  So smart.

I will have to look into a few more items for Claire’s upcoming birthday next week.  Yikes!  She’s almost one.  That will be a whole other post.

For today, read, play, learn and…

Live Well

Newhard’s – They have a bunch of bigger books too from the same line. You have to look through all the shelves to find them.
