Summer Reading ~ What’s on Your List?

Summer will officially begin on Wednesday, June 20 and that, my friends, is less than a week from today.  The following day, school will be finishing up and camp will start soon after.  Yea for summer!

I’m not one to focus on a single book for the summer holiday season or even a list of books but I know many people get crazy over these lists.  Wanting to make sure they aren’t missing out on the next big title or latest series, they cram in as many possible while at home or away.  For me this strays from what I believe is the essence of a good summer read.  Somewhere to get lost and dream while sipping a lemonade sitting in your favorite nook.  Mine is the front porch.  It’s the type of book that will allow you to relax and be transported even if only while you are holding it in your hands.

Right now, I am in the middle of reading Paris in Love by Eloisa James.  It’s following my reading French Kids Eat Everything, by Karen le Billon.  Do you see a theme here?  I’ve mentioned my obsession with France and these books are what I mean by being transported.  So good I can almost taste the food and smell the lavender.

Once I’m finished reading my current book, I’ll figure out what’s next on my not-a-list list of books.  It may be another French read or one of the cookbooks I recently purchased at our new local bookstore.  Yes, I actually read cookbooks for pleasure.

Whatever I choose, I’ll let you know.  In fact, I want to know what you are reading?  What is on your list for the summer?  Do you follow along with the trends in reading?  If so, are you glad you did and what were some of your favorites?

Do you have any recommendations for my next summer book?  I would love some suggestions from you!

Have a wonderful day today and I’ll be back later to wrap up the week.

Live Well

I’m a big book hound and have a bunch on the “to be read” pile that should be turned into a list! Will update you next week…

My goal is to start reading books again! I’m going to Michigan to spend a week by the lake in July and I want to READ. Maybe I’ll even take a week off from blogging. Wouldn’t that be nuts? Ha!

I want to read the Mindy Kaling book, the book by Jenny Lawson/The Bloggess, You Take It From Here by Pamela Ribon, Brand Thinking and Other Noble Pursuits by Debbie Millman, and some other branding/design books. I also want to read Paris In Love now. :)

Have a great weekend! xo

Oh, please take the time to read OK? I finally started up again and even though I have a million projects and work things going on, reading really balances out my soul.

Let me know what you end up getting to!
