mindfulness ~ the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something
For the past two years I have not put paper napkins into the kids’ lunches. In an effort to use as little paper as possible, I thought this was a great place to start. It was driving me nuts seeing all those napkins end up in the garbage everyday. Even though the paper they were made from was recycled, they were packaged in plastic and the manufacturing and delivery impact definitely wasn’t worth the continued purchase.
At first I packed cloth napkins I already had in the drawer for special occasions. After a while, I realized they were too big for everyday use for the kids and began looking for a suitable alternative. Something a little more kid friendly.
I came across People Towels through my search and went directly to the company website for a closer look at their profile and to see more inventory choices.
Based on the values of the company, their use of 100% organic cotton fabric and the smaller size of the napkin, I decided to give them a try and ordered a pack of five. When I received them they didn’t disappoint and the napkin dilemma for the kids was solved. With needing to make three homemade lunches every day, I have since bought about 15 more. The owl and bee are their favorites with the This is Not a Tree coming in a close third!
If you think this is something want to try, they are having a super sale right now and most of those are priced half off!

Thanks for sharing Jill! I am feeling a pang of a challenge here. And that is a good thing. I would really love to not have a need for paper napkins any longer! Hmmmmm……..& they are SUPER cute!
YOU CAN DO IT!!! No. Seriously, it’s just that easy.
The key is to have enough on hand so you aren’t always feeling the need to have them laundered.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
Do these feel more like a thin Terry cloth towel or more like a cotton napkin? The designs are cute! I don’t buy paper napkins very often…one pack can last me a year. I only use them for large gatherings, etc. It’s the little things that we can do to help save the planet. If everyone switched back to cloth napkins…
They feel like a thin terry but smoother. Does that make sense?
I think I might give these a try, I stopped using paper towels and paper napkins about 6 years ago. I tend to sew my own napkins but I might give these a try.
