The Weekender

Returning from a trip always throws me off for a day or two.  Especially when there is a time difference greater than an hour.  With Alt. Summit having been a five day adventure, I was all settled into life in the MST zone.

This is how my week back home went down.  Monday was a washout with no shower and a three hour nap on the couch – priceless and rare, but oh so needed!  Tuesday through Thursday were just OK and I was able to catch up with house work in between yawns.  Boring but necessary.  Today I am in the zone, my time zone and well, let’s just say it was one of the most productive days I’ve had in weeks!!

Today was the day for getting things done.  Specifically, my writing course!  I am offering a creative writing workshop next month for kids in my area and have finally gotten my act together.  The postcards are designed and ready to share – EEEKK!  I’m excited to be teaching something I know well and have a serious passion for in life.  It will be a mix of writing and art with lots of fun thrown in.  I’m also nervous!  It’s like when you throw a party and hope people will come.  Have you ever put yourself out there like that?  Oh, do tell and feel free to give me some tips while your at it!!  Thanks and a high five to you for being brave!

Tomorrow night, I am meeting two wonderful friends for dinner and I can’t wait!  Other than that, chilling out with my family.  What are your plans this weekend?

Whatever you do, enjoy and I will see you back here on Monday!  I’ll be starting a new column titled Mindful Monday – looking forward to seeing you there!

Live Well

Yup – I can relate. My first salon is next week!

What’s the worst that can happen? Some will show and if its slow the first time, it’ll grow… You’ll be great!

Jill– your workshop is going to be AMAZING. I wish we lived closer so I could sign the kids up–as you KNOW I would.

I can’t wait to hear more. What you are offering is priceless and I am so glad you are doing this!

Have a great weekend. No plans here–but we do have a babysitter for the kids tomorrow night! Looking forward to dinner with some friends–have a great dinner with yours.

xo!!

Thanks Caroline for the support!

The good thing is I do know the subject matter that I’m teaching so that removes a little bit of the EEEKKS.

Have a fun night tonight too!!!

Thank you SO much for your kind words! I am so excited to teach kids and can’t wait.

Video is a great idea, but I’ll have to clear it with the parents first. Thanks!!!

I’m sure your column will be hugely successful. What a great course to offer! Is it an e-course just an in person one?

The course will be in my home for kids grade 3-6th. It’s a writing course using fun, art, and hands on activities which will allow kids to like to write (and read).

Every kid is a storyteller at heart and their imaginations are amazing. Unfortunately they are put into such rigorous routines in school they loose the sense of freedom to be creative with their writing and really enjoy the process.

I’m hoping to be able to make them connect with that part of their brain and look forward to putting pen to paper.

BTW – SO glad you are stopping over here to visit me! It’s nice to have a connection with you after Alt. It was so great to meet you last week!

The column will be Mindful Monday’s here on my blog. I want to start sharing more of my green-living in a more focused and intentional way. On a regular basis. It is something I live by and a huge part of who I am as a person.
