Cue crickets…(or a large vulture)

Yes, it has been so quiet around here for the past week you can actually hear crickets chirping.  Know what’s even better than crickets?  Turkey vultures!  That’s right folks, the buzzards thought my office was officially vacant and decided to move in.  I won’t get into too much detail, but let’s just say the bird was as surprised to see me as I was him.  Read – Behavior, what they do to scare off predators -  in the link.  Not pretty.  Needless to say, he took off about five minutes after my arrival and has yet to return.  I, on the other hand, am back and ready to write.

I know I’m not alone when expressing my need to disconnect from the noise of social media.  To just be in my space, outside of this blog, and that is exactly what I have been doing.  Much of my absence has been spent reconnecting with family and friends, writing an article and starting my first children’s creative writing workshop.  Definitely time well spent and there will be a lot more of that going forward.

Shifting from posting five days a week to a more varied schedule has been a gradual process but a natural one for me.  I have moved into slow-blogging mode, which appears to be the current trend in the blog world.  Focusing on other areas of my life needing to be nurtured and given priority, while still having a presence here.  By doing so, it has opened up more opportunities to learn and grow.  More risk taking and putting myself out there while holding my breath and crossing my fingers.  Scary and exciting!

That being said, know that I am still here in between the quiet moments and will come back often.

Live Well

as far as the turkey vultures go….not the prettiest birds, but very efficient nevertheless! Purpose has reasons!

I found blogging every day to be impossible for me. Seriously, Jill you are SO smart. I stopped blogging daily a long time ago. It kind of makes no sense for my type of blog and honestly, unless a person wants the blog to grow into a place where the make money from ads, it isn’t really necessary.
I’m with you on the social media thing. It can be a time suck and has to be managed. Plus, writing is such a cerebral thing; anything that distracts from the flow, from the groove of it just ruins the whole process. It’s not like other things where you can multitask.

I can’t wait to hear about how the classes and all the other endeavors are going for you. Go Jill!!
